Dr. Paulo Caleffi, CIT’s SG, made institutional visits this week to Brazilian congressmen seeking support for the approval of agendas in the area of Transportation, which are being discussed in the National Congress.

In one of his visits, he met with the Senator of the Republic of Brazil Nelsinho Trad Filho, in which opportunity they talked about the Interoceanic Highway, Supply Tank without the danger and Internal Navigation.

In another moment, the general secretary of CIT met with the Senator of the Republic Luís Carlos Heinze to ask for support for two projects of national interest: the supply tank without danger and inland navigation. During the conversation, CIT’s General Secretary, Dr. Paulo Caleffi, pointed out that Senator Heinz brought great news, which is important for us Brazilians, especially regarding our Uruguayan neighbors, and about the exportation through the rivers of Rio Grande do Sul. During the conversation, Senator Heinz informed that the Brazilian government, by means of Minister Márcio França, authorized a bid for the dredging of the São Gonzalo channel, at the height of Santa Izabel, in Arroio Grande. The senator also informed that he talked to the Uruguayan player Lugano from São Paulo, where he was informed that he already has a cement plant in 33, Uruguay, and is already setting up a company in Montenegro, where it will be possible to bring material from Uruguay to the center of Rio Grande do Sul.
